BAVEP 2020. - Launch event

A professional dialogue with county and city public authorities, educational institutions, companies and service providers on sustainability.

The actors and supporters of the Baranya Virtual Power Plant Program, committed to sustainability, discussed at a launch event how they have been able to benefit from the opportunities to access green knowledge, contacts and resources, organise awareness-raising actions and programmes in recent months, and launch energy efficiency-oriented developments.

In spring 2019, the University of Pécs joined the Virtual Power Plant Program, one of the most important innovative European projects on sustainable energy, which is initiated and mentored by the Hungarian Innovation and Efficiency Nonprofit (MI6) Ltd., a leading player in the field of green economy policy strategizing in Hungary since 2011, the Virtual Power Plant Program aims to collect and present the energy and CO2 savings of partners through their applications, share their good examples and reward them.

This has inspired the University to create a common platform with urban and county partners, where the protection of the built and natural environment, energy awareness, clean mobility and, above all, the need to raise awareness, are fundamental. To this end, the Baranya Virtual Power Plant Program has been established, with the University of Pécs as mentor, the Hungarian Innovation and Efficiency Nonprofit Ltd., the Municipality of Pécs, the Diocese of Pécs, the Municipality of Baranya County, the Pécs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Leőwey Klára High School as partners.
