Applications for English language programs now open
From 1st January, the application process for international students for fee-paying courses in English have started. On 17th February, the first online interview for undergraduate students took place. From March, the online admission interview for Master's students will also start. Language teachers from the Technical Language Centre and colleagues from the Masters courses will participate in the online admission process on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on the number of applicants.

Applications for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program now closed
The deadline for applications for the Stipendium Hungaricum programme was 15th January. In mid-March, the Tempus Public Foundation will send the University the files of the applicants. After the formal evaluations, the admission procedure for SH applicants is expected to start in early April.
Courses start at the International Education Centre - IOC
On 30th January, the International Education Centre launched English-language pre-vocational training for foreign students. In January this year, 20 students started their studies in the preparatory programmes in computer science-electrical engineering and architecture-construction engineering, taught by the staff of the Technical Language Examination Centre and by lecturers from the Faculty's professional institutes.

The first Blended Intensive Program has been awarded
Cultural Puzzle was the title of a five-day international workshop organised by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts FH Dortmund (FHDO) in Germany, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Croatia and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the UP last semester. The aim of the international project, funded by the EU as an Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme, was to develop joint curricula and to create and present architectural designs.
In mixed groups, the students created their ideas for the garden of the Klimo Library building on Ignác Szepesy Street, with the aim of integrating the space into the city's circulation and making it suitable for community use. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Tamás Molnár, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the UP, who introduced the students to the main architectural sights of the city centre of Pécs. Dr. János Gyergyák and Dr. Krisztián Szigetvári gave lectures on the development of the city, while Dr. Gábor Veres introduced the participants to the mills of Orfű and the Fountain House. Dr. Metin Akay, visiting professor of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the UP, is awarded an honorary doctorate
Prof. Dr. Metin Akay, who played a prominent role in the launch of the Biomedical Engineering MSc program of our Faculty, has contributed greatly to the realization of the professional program of the 3D Printing and Visualization Center of the UP and has also provided significant support to the organization of the iCBEI (International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Innovation) conference on medical engineering in October 2022. His scientific activity and outstanding scientific organisation are of strategic importance for the further development of the field of medical engineering in Pécs.
The ceremonial conferral of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa will take place at the University's Honorary Doctoral Inaugural Senate Meeting on 9th March 2023.

Lectures by visiting professors from Rome on Campus
On 2nd March, visiting professors and students from our partner institution, Roma Tre University, gave short professional lectures in English. The presentations were organized around the Italian National Innovation Program for improving the quality of housing.

International Evening - UP International Evening
On 18th March, the International Evening for International Students of PTE will take place, which is also the main event of the International Spring. During the International Evening, international students of the UP will showcase the cultural diversity of the University to the community through their traditional costumes, national food, music or traditional dances. The new theme/motto for this year is "World Reunited", which represents multiculturalism, coexistence, acceptance of each other's cultures and unity at the University of Pécs. The IE is a charity event, with all proceeds from the evening going to support the Hospitals and Institutes of the University of Pécs.
