The physical and chemical basis of the climate change process. The current extent of climate change and how it has changed so far. Comparison of natural global cooling and warming cycles and warming due to anthropogenic emissions. Climate models, climate projections. Limit points of irreversible change. Global objectives. Climate change impacts on the environment and human society. Technical and scientific solutions to combat climate change. Social and economic solutions to combat climate change. The role of the individual in the fight against climate change. Programme for Change 6 as a complex system of solutions

Classes are held every Wednesday from 16.45 - 18.15 in lecture room 302 in the main building of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the UP(except autumn break).

The structure of the course:

08.02.2023:  The physical and chemical basis of the climate change process. The current extent of climate change and how it has changed so far. Comparison of natural global cooling and warming cycles and warming due to anthropogenic emissions. Climate models, climate projections.

 

15.02.2023:  The limits of irreversible change. Global objectives. Climate change impacts on the environment and human society.
