Green Future Day - 21st March, 2025
The University of Pécs, in collaboration with the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority, is organizing a sustainability theme day entitled "Green Future Day" in connection with World Water Day on 21st March, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Pécs, in the Koltai Dénes Auditorium (1/b Szántó Kovács J. street Pécs).
The program will begin with a press conference at 9:00 a.m. Participants in the press conference will include:
- Dr. Edit Juhász, President, Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority
- Dr. Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environmental Affairs, Ministry of Energy
- Dr. Katalin Szili, Honorary Associate Professor, Curator, UQA
- Dr. Tamás Fedeles, Vice-Rector, University of Pécs
- Dr. Gábor Szécsi, Dean, University of Pécs
Following the opening speeches by Dr. Edit Juhász, Dr. Tamás Fedeles, Vice-Rector, and Dr. Gábor Szécsi, Dean, Dr. Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environmental Affairs, Barnabás Bárdi, Head of Department, Dr. Katalin Szili, Honorary Associate Professor and Curator, and Dr. László Őri, President (Baranya County Local Government), will give presentations.
The opening presentations will be followed by presentations related to World Water Day and the energy challenges of the 21st century, as well as roundtable discussions. The program will also include the international opening of the Shoot for Earth global filmmaking competition. Visitors will have the chance to win a family pass to the Harkány Thermal Baths.
In addition to presentations and roundtable discussions focusing on various areas of sustainability, the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority will also present topics under its supervision, where participants can learn about labor market trends in the energy and public utility sector and employment opportunities in the industry.
