Information Session on the UI GreenMetric WUR Rankings for European Universities, Organized by the Green University Program Office of the University of Pécs


The Green University Program Office of the University of Pécs, in collaboration with the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings team, organized an online information session for European universities on October 7, 2024. The event aimed to introduce the methodology and questionnaire of the 2024 UI GreenMetric WUR and support the development of sustainability programs at universities.

This year, European Mobility Week was held for the 23rd time between 16th and 22nd September, offering a number of interesting programs for those who wanted to learn more about environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation. In connection with the series of programs, the Green University Program of the University of Pécs, in cooperation with the institution's faculties, member institutions, and partners, prepared a diverse range of zero-emission programs to jointly encourage the traveling public to use safe bicycle transportation.





13th Science Festival with the participation of the UP Green University Program


The 13th Science Festival will be held in Pécs at the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter E78 building complex on 19-20th September, 2024. The UP Green University Program will also be present at the event, welcoming enthusiastic participants with a Green Aura terrain table and online game. The event presents the technological developments and IT tools of the 21st century in an unusual, playful, and spectacular way, including robotics and virtual reality elements that can be used in education.





Eco Adventure Camp 2024


The No.1 Practical Primary School of the University of Pécs and the UP Green University Program launched an environmentally conscious, playful camp for children aged 6-10 years from 1-12th July 2024.





The role of rain gardens in the urban environment


Extreme weather conditions in recent years, including intense rainfall events and dry spells, have increasingly highlighted the need for effective water management. Flooding and rapid run-off in urban areas is a major problem and new innovative solutions are needed. This is the theme of the conference "Runoff or water retention? The role of rain gardens in urban run-off", held on 21st May by Dr.
