As part of the Sustainability Theme Week, another Zsolnay drinking fountain was ceremoniously unveiled on 7th April, this time at the University of Pécs's Ifjúság út campus, in the courtyard of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
One of the events of the 2025 Hungarian Year of Science series will take place on Monday, March 24: the 7th International Conference on Efficient Water Supply will be held at the headquarters of the Regional Committee of Pécs of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The opening lecture will be given by Ernő Wagner, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, and will cover topics related to military drinking water safety and the UP Spongecity project.
The University of Pécs, in collaboration with the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority, is organizing a sustainability theme day entitled "Green Future Day" in connection with World Water Day on 21st March, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Pécs, in the Koltai Dénes Auditorium (1/b Szántó Kovács J. street Pécs).

The UP defended its title in 2024, receiving the " Cycling-Friendly Workplace" title for the fourth consecutive year. Twenty-six municipalities and 33 workplaces applied for the 2024 competition, with 11 municipalities and 12 companies and institutions receiving the title. The winners can use the Cycling-Friendly title and logo for one year. The aim of the award is to recognize workplaces that make an outstanding contribution to promoting and supporting environmentally friendly forms of transport.

On 7th February, 2025, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics organized a workshop entitled "Results and experiences in the process of making universities sustainable," at which the University of Pécs was also represented with a presentation.
Students from the Babits Mihály High School of the University of Pécs took part in an exemplary initiative again this year, aimed at helping a disadvantaged family. As part of their mandatory 50 hours of community service, the students "manufactured" paper briquettes from waste paper, sawdust, and water, which will provide enough heating for an entire heating season.
